Never use silicone lube

Silicone lube bonds to silicone toys. It will make the surface go tacky and slightly melted, and it does not come back. Use water based only. If you are not certain what you have got, test it on the underside of the base first and leave it an hour.

Washing

• Warm water and a mild unscented soap, before and after every use.
• Rinse properly. Soap left in the texture is what causes irritation, not the silicone.
• Air dry, or pat with a lint free cloth. A towel will leave fluff in the detail.

Sterilising

Platinum silicone can be boiled for a few minutes or run through a dishwasher on a top rack with no detergent. Only do this if the piece is one hundred percent silicone throughout. Do not boil anything with a rigid insert or an electronic component.

Storage

Silicone attracts dust and picks up colour from anything dyed it is pressed against. Keep it in its own box, not in a drawer with other toys, and not against vinyl or jelly material, which can leach into it permanently.

Condoms

If it is being shared between people, use a condom over it and change that between partners. Washing is good, but it is not the same thing.
